There is something about the combination of two different materials in the same project, that gives such a neat result. moss is worked in Merino d’Arles, a supersoft, organic GOTS-certified merino yarn combined with RE·NIM, which is a comfortable cotton yarn, made from old jeans. Entrelac has always fascinated me, and by adding texture it becomes an even more interesting technique.
For boxes I’ve used ‘the easy version’ of entrelac, added a colour sequence and a small brioche cable. The woven expression, you normally find in entrelac, is less visible, but the surface of fabric vibrates from the cables, moving in different directions.
Sometimes the display of the yarn at the store is enough inspiration. The three colors shouldn’t be mixed, but displayed in the shawl the same way, but using different techniques; a stockinette section, surrounded by two garter sections, one created by knit stitches and one created by purl stitches.
